ARAB, AL (WAFF)- The Firehouse Subs Corporation, which was founded by two firefighters, awarded almost $15,000 worth of life-saving equipment to the 4C Volunteer Fire Department in Arab, including the Jaws of Life and turnout gear.
It's part of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to help under-funded emergency responders around the country.
"It's equipment that is sorely needed that they probably could not get otherwise with grants and stuff like that. And that's something this Public Safety Foundation does is donate to fire departments that are desperately in need of it," said Zane Laney, a franchisee of Firehouse Subs.
Since 2005, the Firehouse Subs Safety Foundation has donated more than $400,000 to public safety groups in Alabama alone.
