Victim in Georgia Mountain Rd. wreck identified | News
MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF)- State Troopers responded to a fatal wreck in Marshall County early Thursday morning.
Officials said they received the call at 4:21 a.m. of a single vehicle wreck on Georgia Mountain Road just off Highway 69.
Troopers said 45-year-old Walter Dwayne Wood of Guntersville drove off the road and struck a tree.
Wood died at the scene.
Officials said there were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation, but officials said speed may have been a factor.
