GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- State and federal agents in Guntersville raided an apartment where they found heroin, cocaine, and methadone.

Heroin isn't something you see very often these days, but the case has gotten the attention of the federal drug enforcement agency who participated in the raid.

Leonard Lee Montgomery, 56, Robert Lewayne Moore, 34, and Nasya Untrea Whorton, 19, all of Guntersville, were taken into custody on various drug charges.

Guntersville Police said they were arrested during a bust at Montgomery's apartment on Deerman Street around 9 p.m. Thursday night.

Inside, police said they found methadone, nearly an ounce of powder cocaine, as well as two ounces of heroin - something that's alarming police.

"We're seeing it more and more, and that's why we've opened up active investigations into the distribution of it in our area," said Captain John East with Guntersville PD.

All three were to go before a Marshall County judge to have their bonds set.
